Windows 10: "Sign in to work of school account" pop annoyance problem fixed

I also had this error and after reading many similar threads couldn't find any real solutions, most were just asking for an endless amount of "extra info", basically just kicking the can down the road, or were offering "non-solution" solutionsMy fix was to simply uninstall all office 365 references from the registry and any keys associated with it as I only use the old locally installed office versionThat was 2 days ago, no more pop-ups sinceWhilst I doubt this will solve everybody's problem, it would seem to work for people like myself who have never had an office 365 install, school or work

Pop up - asking to sign into work or school account.

I did what you suggested but the work account is not linked to my personal Microsoft account - it is not listed as an account in the "Accounts" section of settings. Therefore I can't disconnect it because it isn't visible.

Is the pop up message from Microsoft or could it be fake?

 

A sign-in pop-up shows up saying I have problems with work or school account

Yes, I've tried already to hit the "sign in" button and tried to sign in using my school account but I failed to do so as my school account got disabled I guess, however, I wanna stop this pop-up from showing any more. I don't need to sign in to my school account anymore and it still pops up every time I start my laptop even when Microsoft already sent a notification to the school admin for resetting my password.

However, please let us know:

• When you say “I deleted the e-mail account” do you mean deleting the Microsoft account or deleting the account from your computer?
  
• Are you using a Microsoft account to login to the computer?
  

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned below and see if that helps:

1. Press Windows logo key + I, to open
   Settings.
   
2. Click on Accounts, and select
   Access work or school from the left pane.
   
3. Now, click on the email account and select
   Disconnect.
   
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
   

If this doesn’t work, you may want to try converting the account to a local account and see if that helps. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows logo key + I, to open
   Settings.
   
2. Click on Accounts and select
   Your info from the left pane.
   
3. Click on Sign in with a local account instead.
   
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
