  2. Can't sign to Microsoft account

For further troubleshooting, we suggest that you try to change the privacy settings of your computer. You may refer to the steps below:

    • Open Settings.
    • Click on Privacy.
    • Turn off Let apps on my other devices open apps and continue experiences on this device and
Let apps on my other devices use Bluetooth to open apps and continue experiences on this device.

After changing the privacy settings of your computer, check if the issue remains.

Don't hesitate to post back if you need further assistance.

    Thank you.

  3. you need to fix your Microsoft account for apps and your other devices to be able to launch apps and continue experiences on this device

This message appears in the pop ups when I boot this notebook computer: you need to fix your Microsoft account for apps and your other devices to be able to launch apps and continue experiences on this device

windows 10 pro version 1607 os build 14393.222

How do you fix your Microsoft account so that it no longer displays this pop up?

Under settings then accounts there are:

    your email

    email and app accounts

    sign-in-options

    access work or school

    family and other people

    sync your settings

There are two with red postings. Are these what trigger this message? If so what steps do you need to make to fix?

Family and other people: We couldn't connect to Microsoft family right now, so your family on this device might not be up to date.

Sync your settings: Some Windows features are only available if you are using a Microsoft account or a work account.

When entering troubleshooter is there a troubleshooter to use to fix the message?: you need to fix your Microsoft account for apps and your other devices to be able to launch apps and continue experiences on this device

When I clicked on the message it opened Change privacy options.

There the following are set off and on:

let apps use my advertising ID off

    turn on smartscreen filter: off

    send Microsoft info: off

let websites provide locally relevant content: on

let apps on my other devices open apps: on

let apps on my other devices use bluetooth: on

There was nothing in red and there was nothing blinking or underlined or stared to indicate which setting needs to be updated or changed.

How do you fix this pop up message: you need to fix your Microsoft account for apps and your other devices to be able to launch apps and continue experiences on this device

    This is additional information:

On a google search I found this troubleshooter which was not listed in the troubleshooter menu on this computer:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...790db/run-the-troubleshooter-for-windows-apps

When it was ran the first time it displayed a problem with synch service

When it was ran the second time it displayed:

Can’t connect to the sync service

    Detected

There might be an Internet connection problem or the service may not be available. Please check your Internet connection and try again.

What steps are available to fix the above message: you need to fix your Microsoft account for apps and your other devices to be able to launch apps and continue experiences on this device

I have forgotten how to access the cbs log if that is where to go to find the additional information about the rootcauses found. If that is what needs to be done please indicate how to do that. If not please indicate the steps to fix the message above.
