My microphone volume is so low, it's like I was talking so far away, and I check the volume in sound properties it is 100%, and I use external microphone too and i still can't hear my own voice, i test with Input sound Device properties in setting and the test result is "the highest value we saw was 7 percent"i found out something, i can hear my voice clearly in Microsoft Teams test call, and i can clearly hear my voice in microphone test zoom when "signal processing by windows audio device driver" turn off, when it on i can't hear my voiceany solution?

    Microphone input endlessly repeats itself

A shot in the dark but this could explain your issue.

It is possible with all audio recording devices to record also the audio signal coming from selected speakers. This is called Listening. This is a practical feature when you want to for instance record a VoIP / Skype call, record a video with system sounds and so on.

When a recording device like for instance microphone is set to listen speakers, it causes audio feedback.

When listening is enabled, Windows Volume Mixer shows the recording device. You need to mute the microphone as shown in this screenshot:

Muting a listening microphone in Volume Mixer does not mute the microphone itself, it just mutes the looping feedback audio. You can still use the microphone normally.

If you do no longer want the microphone to listen speakers, right click your default microphone in Sound Properties / Recording devices, select Listen tab and disable listening:

This might not be the reason for your issue but is definitely worth checking.

  3. Applications have very low microphone input level?

I've got a 32-bit Windows machine that I've been using for several years now with devices on the microphone port for input. I've not used that feature for the last few months though (I mostly do that kind of work in the Winter), and now I find it's not working.

The device is definitely supplying signal at the cord end that goes into the PC microphone jack. The microphone control panel level meter is showing good input signal. If I "Listen" to loopback the microphone to the speakers in the PC, I have a good volume level signal.

However, in my applications (I've tried 4 different ones so far) the signal being input is unusably low. Like barely detectable. I tried increasing the microphone level and gain. That has no impact on what the applications are seeing (but will peg the control panel meter easily and seriously distort the loopback output).

I'm at a loss on how to continue debugging. The sound is definitely coming in to the system. It's on the input side, so I don't have application specific sliders that could have become mis-set like the output side has. Just somehow it's no longer being delivered to applications.

Extremely low microphone volume after upgrade

After updating from Windows 7 to Windows 10 (kinda prefer 7 to be honest, but still getting used to 10), I've discovered that the input volume on my microphone - a generic old style (though not immensely old) stalk mic - is extremely low, low enough that
software just considers it noise. I have updated my Realtek audio drivers to no effect. Driver volume and boost set to maximum. Any idea what I can do about this?
