Windows 10: Signing into iCloud Account on People or Calendar.

G'day,I have been trying for a while to sign into iCloud in the People and Calendar apps. At first I used my real password, then the app-specific passwords. Apple says that having the iCloud app installed on your computer means that you can use your real password, but MS says 'In order to use your iCloud account, you must enable two-factor authentication on your iCloud account, and generate an app-specific password to add your iCloud account to the Mail app'. Neither work, and that's my issue. When I first add the account to either app, it changes the name to '!idspnInternetMailICloudAccountN

Can't setup iCloud account in the People app

I am trying to add my iCloud account to the People app in Windows 10 (Fall Creator's Edition).

My steps:

1. I start the People app and click Add Accounts.
   
2. I select iCloud from the list. For email address, I enter my login email address for iCloud. For Send your messages..., I enter my name. And then the iCloud password. And then click Sign in.
   
3. It says Your account was setup successfully, but then when I dismiss the dialog, it says
   
   .
   

What am I missing? Why does it not connect?

 

iCloud calendar will not show calendar and categories in Windows 10 mail app.

I suggest you to go through the below steps and check if it helps.

• Login to your Apple ID and password.
• Choose ‘Calendar‘, click on the ‘WiFi’-like Logo next to the calendar you want to see in Windows 10 calendar app.
• Choose ‘Public Calendar‘ and send copy the link.
• Next, login to your outlook.com account, go to ‘Calendar‘ in the PC website view, click on ‘Import‘, then on ‘Subscribe‘, choose a calendar name, paste the iCloud calendar link and click ‘Subscribe‘.
• Now the iCloud calendar subscription is processing and after a short while you can see your iCloud calendar apps on outlook.com.
• For checking correct syncing, go to the settings wheel on the right upper corner, click on ‘Options‘ and then on the name of the iCloud calendar subscription you gave in step 4. Under ‘Last Refresh‘, you can see
  the refresh period and the number of correctly synced events.
• Open Windows 10 calendar app. If you’ve already set up your outlook.com account, you will see the iCloud calendar subscription in ‘read-only’ mode.

Problems syncing iCloud Calendar with Windows 10 Calendar

I don't know if this is helpful, but I tried the new app password generator as suggested earlier in the thread and it totally worked! and it was easy, too. Here are the steps I followed:

• First I went to Apple ID and logged in under your normal account
• Check to see if one of your apple accounts is listed (me.com, icloud.com, etc.)
• Then I went to app specific passwords.
• Created a name (mine was Outlook1)
• the system will generate a new password.
• Then I highlighted and copied
• Then I went in to Calendar, added an iCloud account
• I signed in using my icloud address just to be safe.
• Pasted the newly generated password
• Pressed add. And it worked.

All my stuff started populating immediately. Plus, I am able to create an event on my home PC and it automatically popuated on my iPhone.
