Windows 10: Simple Notepad replacement for W10 that doesn't need to edit code?

For as long as I've used W7, I've used the free EditPad Lite 5.4.5 to replace Windows Notepad for recording simple text notes.
Unfortunately, this version doesn't work in W10. I've installed the simplest version I could find (7.05 from 2011) but, like all EditPad Lite later versions, it's more geared to editing code.
After doing a search, it seems that just about all 'simple' text editors are the same.
Anyone able to recommend a really 'simple' text editor to replace Windows Notepad in W10?

I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

Replace Notepad in Windows 10 1909 with Dark Notepad

I don't find anything from Dark Notepad authors on how to set it as Default. So I would contact them through the link which appear at the bottom of their Download page in MS Store app, which every app maker must provide to support their app. Let them know
you're airing this in Microsoft Community forums where we are waiting to hear how they suggest to do this.

There is another Notepad++ app here that gives some steps which it provides to replace the default in it's Settings:

If your Dark Notepad app doesn't have similar then toward the end of that tutorial there is a registry edit to replace the Notepad default you can try.

Wordpad ? Notepad ++ ? Why like this ?

Turn word wrap off in Notepad and it works fine for script editing. Turn word wrap on and it works fine for text editing. Yes, it is very simple software so it isn't really suitible for complex file operations (find/replace, column select, binary files etc.) but it works great for batch files or touching up some source code.
