  1. Simple Questions Thread - Week of September 13th, 2020

Welcome to the Simple Questions thread, for questions that don't need their own thread. We still recommend you use the search, FAQ/Wiki on the sidebar, or even a Bing search before asking. Also please post tech support related questions on /r/techsupport.

Some examples of questions to ask:

    • Is this super cheap Windows key legitimate? (probably not)

    • How can I get the 2004 update?

    • Can you recommend a program to play music?

    • How do I get back to the old Sound Control Panel?

Sorting by New is recommend and is the default.

  2. September 13th Patch update

Tried to download latest September 13th patch update and it stopped at 46% for hours without success. Tried two or three times with the same result trying restarts and complete shutdown. Today, I can't even get the download update patch and I'm
stuck in a loop with a Windows Defender update. What gives? Problems at Microsoft? Seems to be a faulty update and may be trying to work on it. Any info on this would be appreciated.

    thanks
