Windows 10: Simultaneous connections to an access point and a USB modem

Hi,I need help. I was connected to a Wi-Fi network. And as I know that we can connect to both Wi-Fi network and Ethernet network in the same time, I was trying to do the same with Wi-Fi network access point and Dial-Up connection USB modem. But I can see that my computer still connected but no Internet connection, so it looks like Dial-Up block Wi-Fi.The purpose of this is to be able to connect to 2 networks in the same time, Wi-Fi for Internet access and Dial-Up for remote access. So for now I keep Internet access on USB modem, but if I set parameters for remote access, I have that remote

We understand how difficult it could be. However, we would need some more information regarding the issue.

1. Do you see network signals showing as connected in the taskbar?
   
2. May I know the model of the Vodafone modem you are using?
   

Please refer to
Mobile Broadband Software for Windows 10 for the list of modem models which support Windows 10. We would suggest you to download the software utility from the article and check if it resolves the issue.



We would also suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to check for the drivers for modem.

1. Connect the USB modem.
   
2. Open Device Manager by searching for it in search bar.
   
3. Locate and expand Universal serial bus Controllers in the list.
   
4. Check if the driver are displayed under the tree.

For those who dont know how to use the nokia device as modem.



Listed below is the step by step intructions to configure the Nokia device as a modem to a mac. If you receive any cases/questions related to this, please provide the steps mentioned below.



Steps:

Connecting your Mac to the internet is convenient and easy with your a compatible Nokia S60 device. You'll need a Nokia S60 device that supports a 2G or 3G data connection (such as GPRS or HSDPA), a compatible Mac (with the latest OS X), a USB cable for
your Nokia device or a Bluetooth-enabled Mac, and a network subscription with your mobile service provider.

• To set up your device you'll need to know your operator's Access Point Name (APN) and have the packet data service enabled. For help with this please contact your operator.

In the following example, the APN name "Airtel" is used. This name will vary depending on your operator.

On your device locate and open the Settings application. This is normally in the Tools folder.



In Settings select and open Connection >Select and open Packet data > Select and open Access point >Type in your operator's Access Point Name



Exit Settings. Your device is now ready to be used as a modem for your Mac!

• Bluetooth Connection: Pairing between Mac and Device using bluetooth, follow the instruction from here:

Note: Preferred mode is USB as it much faster than Bluetooth.

• Connect the device and then go to System preferences- >Network- >Select Device (Nokia XXX)

-Telephone Number: (contact your operator to get this settings)

-APN: (contact your operator to get this settings)

CID: 1



Once connected it will be highlighted in green.
