    Since I moved isp, changing the dns ip to a public one does not work


    I moved isp not too long ago and ever since the cloudflare and google dns server do not respond for some reason, I have to use the automatic one which is really bad and stutters all the time. This happens to me on both windows 11 laptop and a windows 10 desktop.

    Is this the ISP's DNS at fault?

    I had the problem a couple of times and on the first occasion the ISP changed to Google public DNS servers, then they were changed back to what they usually used.

    When it happened again just changed it in the Modem/Router from Automatically provided by ISP to Google public DNS for both primary and secondary IP addresses.
    Been good ever since.

    I did the tests for fastest ones, but that was rather pointless as the differences were so small.

    does every Router provided by ISP has a unique IP address (public IP address) allocated to ISP by IANA?

    does every Router provided by ISP has a unique IP address (public IP address) allocated to ISP by IANA?

    Moreover, does each of these routers have NAT or PAT ability? if yes, who decides that one router has to perform PAT or NAT?

    My internet works but anything related to google.com throws out a DNS error

    Well, in that case this is a DNS error. The DNS service of the ISP is not working properly. I suggest you to kindly ask the ISP to allocate another IP address for you.
