Windows 10: since last Creators Update, now must have a web cam attached to pc to use 3CX sharescreen...

We use 3CX phone system on our PCs which include meeting software. This was working OK until the windows 10 Creators Update, now some of the machines will not share their screen during a 3CX meeting unless a webcam is attached to the pc. I have contacted 3CX, but they do not have a definite answer. I thought I would ask this here since now windows 10 controls access to the "camera", is there something we can do or check to make this work again? thanks!

Have you updated the drivers for the web cam?

Does this issue occur only on Skype?

I suggest you to install the attest drivers from the manufacturer website and check if it helps.

To install the driver updates follow the below steps.

• 
  Open run command window( Windows key + R) and type devmgmt.msc
  
• 
  Right click on driver and select update driver software.
  
• 
  If the driver updates are not available install it from manufacture website.

Most web cams you can download software & a quick setup for installing that cam from the cam manufacturers support web pages.

You might shut down your computer and attach the cam and see if windows discovers new hardware when it starts up and installs a driver for it. Look in your Device Manager for it and any possible error messages after windows starts.
