Windows 10: Since last Win10 update, on lock screen I have to click on the Windows advertising to bring...

Prior to the latest Win10 update, I could simply hit<enter> or click my mouse on an "empty" part of the screen and the PIN window pops up. Since the latest Win10 update, hitting <enter> or clicking my mouse on an "empty" part of the screen does nothing. The only way to bring up the PIN window is to click on the little blurbs that discuss the lock screen picture or have a Windows "tip" which after the PIN is entered brings up a Bing search screen discussing the lock screen picture or Windows tip.... in other words ADVERTISING TO USE BING AS A SEARCH ENGINE.HOW DO I MAKE THIS STOP?..

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

 

Window Lock Screen advertising

Hi,

To disable unwanted advertisements, follow the steps below:

• Right-click on the desktop, and then click on Personalize.
• Under Personalization, click on Lock screen.
• Toggle the switch for Get fun facts, tips, tricks, and more on your lock screen to turn it

Yep, step 9 in your post is correct. This won't disable the lock screen at startup though.

If you have Windows Spotlight selected for your lock screen, you could switch to a picture instead to stop that bit of advertising.
