    Since latest Windows 10 update my speakers have "disappeared". How can I remove the updates?


    This appears to be a replay of a similar problem last year. That was solved, if my memory serves me, by HP ,the Lap-top's maker, supplying a new BIOS. That may take time but I was quite happy with Windows as it was before the "Upgrade".

    Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

    When in win10:
    • Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....
    Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
    - Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

    Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

    Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

    I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.
