    since updating to windows 11, HDMI cable not working, and Graphics drivers give errors


    After installing windows 11, my HDMI no longer works and my graphics quality has suffered. I see that I am getting the following error on my Microsoft Basic Display Adaptor. This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. Code 31 The driver trying to start is not the same as the driver for the POSTed display adapter.I have tried everything I can find online to fix, nothing works. I have uninstalled and reinstalled using the Intel® Driver & Support AssistantNothing I do seems to help

    HDMI on desktop fails after windows 10 updates - had to roll back to 12 oct to get monitor on HDMI working again.

    Hi,

    There are several reasons why your HDMI monitor fails to work after the Fall Creators Update. It could be caused by the following:

    • Incorrect display output settings.
    • Broken HDMI cable.
    • Graphics driver issue.

    We would like to ask some information to better isolate the issue:

    • Did you get any error messages or error codes?
    • Have you tried updating your graphics drivers?
    • Have you tried using a different HDMI cable?

    HDMI to VGA cable issue

    I have laptop ASUS S510UQR model installed windows 10.

    This laptop have HDMI port only so i use HDMI to VGA cable to connect to external monitor (projector) having VGA port.

    It works fine until i update windows 10.

    Normally, when i plug HDMI to VGA port to laptop, a sound will appear and i could see external monitor when i open Intel UHD graphic control panel.

    But now it does not happen.

    It works fine if i use HDMI to HDMI cable, meaning that the HDMI in laptop is OK.

    I use my HDMI to VGA cable for other laptop, it is OK (meaning that the HDMI to VGA cable is OK)

    I did try the following steps:

    - uninstall graphic driver and reinstall graphic driver using device manager.

    - Go to Asus website to download graphic driver and BIOS to update.

    - Finally reinstall a fresh windows 10

    This issue still happen.

    Could someone please help me to solve this problem?

    HDMI Port Stopped Working

    I generally use a second monitor via an HDMI cable while working. However, it stopped working today.

    I checked these:

    • Windows cannot detect a second monitor when HDMI cable is connected to the second monitor.
    • HDMI cable which I use works if another device is connected to the second monitor.
    • My computer detects my HDMI-to-VGA converter through HDMI port.

    My computer runs Windows 10 Home with latest updates installed.

    I suspect this is due to a driver error. How can I fix this problem?
