    Since upgrading to Windows 11 I can't persistently map a folder to a drive letter


    I recently upgraded to Windows 11 on my laptop and my folders mapped drive letters disappeared. No problem, I thought, I'll just map them again. And it works...until I reboot. It won't remember the mapping.I historically have mapped my OneDrive folder to the O drive to make it faster to get to, especially on the command line. Here are the commands I have tried:At the command line in admin mode:net use o: \\localhost\e$\onedrive_path /persistent:YesIn PowerShell in admin mode:New-PSDrive -Name "O" -Root "\\localhost\e$\onedrive_path" -Persist -PSProvider "FileSystem"Either works while I'm still

    Mapped Drives Issues

    To clarify .... the issue is the Windows 10 OS. It is with Windows File Explorer. The Mapped drives used to appear in File Explorer's left panel list of drives and folders. Two days ago File explorer stopped show the mapped drives. so not they don;t appear in the list of Drives and folders.

    I did, it has no effect. I also check the NAS devices they support SMB 2.0. Also I have several other computers on my home network they work fine with the mapped drives and They do not have SMB 1 turned on. So it is something that happened to the computer in question.

    help. USB drive isn't assigned a drive letter.

    Any usb flash drive I plug into my computer isn't assigned a drive letter. The physical drive shows in the "safely remove hardware" but it doesnt show up in disk management. I have tried to populate the volume thru the safely remove hardware properties window and it does pop up in the list but it doesn't stay there. This isn't a format or assign a letter problem. It's more complicated then that. Maybe one of the services needed for usb drive management was disabled? Suggestions needed. btw external usb harddrives work fine.

    Files only delete permanently from folder mapped to drive letter

    Using win 10-64.

    I have a local folder mapped to a drive letter. I established the mapping by creating a registry key for the drive letter in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\DOS Devices

    Whenever I delete a file from that "drive" it bypasses the recycle bin and gets permanently deleted.

    When I check the recycle bin I see that the drive letter does not appear on the list of Recycle Bin Locations.

    Is there a workaround for this?
