Since Win 1803 upgrade: A bluescreen every other day... :-(

Of course I can't tell whether it really has to do with the recent Windows 1803 upgrade but exactly since then (i.e. since about 3 weeks) I experience a bluescreen about every other day. The explanation mumbles something about some "IRQ less or equal"... (or similar). I practically never had any similar issues like that with Win10 before. Maybe 2-3 bluescreens in >3 years.

What I find really disturbing is, that each time after the system has collected a dump (at least it says so) and reboots I immediately get another bluescreen and the system tells me that the system hasn't been able to shut down properly (surprise!) and that it is corrupted and that I will need to use recovery tools to repair my system. *Eek

Instead I then always do hard-reset (i.e. press power for like 20 seconds), wait for like 5 seconds and switch it on again and then it always come up without any further problems.

I installed a utility "WhoCrashed" to find out, what might be causing these crashes, but the tool always tells me, that the created dump is empty or unusable. :-(

Any similar problems anyone? Any idea, what might cause this? One of my suspicions is, that it might have to do with bluetooth because I observed that about 1/2 minute before those crashes the mouse and pen typically get non-responsive, but maybe that's just a coincidence.

BTW: this is on an MS Surface Pro 4 under Windows Professional.

    :)

  2. Constant bluescreens - still not fixed

I don't think you understood my issue - my bluescreens are random, so I can't do a clean boot and provoke a bluescreen. I am not sure what the steps you suggested have anything to do with my problem and it is not clear how it will help. The PC does boot
up normally, it just crashes randomly during the day.

I am pretty sure the issue is related to a driver that could be incompatible with Win 10. Please check the older threads to further understand the issue.

    Thank you.

  3. update 1803

    Hi mian muddassir inayat,

There are certain laptop models and computer components that are not fully compatible with the latest Windows version (Windows 1803). Our developers are aware of this and may release an update to address the issue as soon as possible. With that said, we do
not suggest to force upgrade a device that has compatibility issues. Please answer the following so we can check for options on how we can help you with your concern:

    • What is the make and model of your PC?
    • How did you upgrade your computer to Windows 1803?
    • Did you get any error messages?
    • Do you have a 3rd party antivirus installed on your PC?

Normally, if your PC meets the requirements for the upgrade, it will be offered to you. If your PC doesn't have an incompatible hardware, then we can proceed with troubleshooting steps.
