HP ENVY 5544 printer prints diagnostics in colour. (so printer seems ok). HP sent test page, it printed in black and white. Paint prints black and white so does Coral Paintshop Pro, though both show a colour image on screen. Could the BT Router be at fault
?.

Printer not printing colour

When I print from Windows 10 Mail and from Office Excel only prints black and white. In the case of Mail this happens even if I check print colour on print drop down menu. I have an HP Envy 5544 wifi printer which has updated driver and prints colour OK
on test page. I have failed to find any obvious settings that apply. Advice please

I said I did not want my Windows 10 updating,

all my network links are metered

BUT YOU DID IT ANYWAY

and surprise, my HP Envy 5544 printer will no longer print in colour.

it did this the last time you updated Windows.

and so I have to go through the entire re-install process AGAIN

I am now planning to remove Windows 10 from my systems, and to use the alternative operating system; any advantage of using Office products, which used to be useful and easy to master, is now totally negated by the inability to manage my own resources.
I can no longer afford the hassle of being a Microsoft user.
