    Hello,


    I had an old keyboard and the single apostrophe key stopped working so I figured it was time to get a new one. I bought a new keyboard and the single apostrophe key does not work on that keyboard either. I tried plugging the new keyboard in to another computer, the single apostrophe key works with the new keyboard on the other computer. I also tried using the keyboard from the other computer on the computer that has the issue. Even with the other keyboard the single apostrophe key will not work.


    Even if I open up the on screen keyboard, the single apostrophe is there, but if i try to type it it does not show up.


    I have tried the keyboard trouble shooting. I have the most recent drivers for my PC. This is a recurring issue. It is not a hardware issue because it happens with any keyboard that is plugged in.

    keyboard issue with apostrophe

    hi

    most keys on my keyboard work just fine, however, the only one that doesnt work is the apostrophe key. i have spent a lot of time trying to get it to work but nothing comes out when i press it, no matter how many times i press it. The thing is, this is not
    a keyboard issue. I tried with 2 other keyboards and all other keys worked just fine, but the apostrophe key didnt. i also connected the current keyboard i use into another computer and the apostrophe key worked just fine, as did the other keys. ive already
    tried reinstalling my keyboard drivers and it still hasnt worked.

    Please help

    also i know this may not be in the right category, sorry for that

    keyboard issue with apostrophe

    Those two items when considered together would point to a defective keyboard. However, your initial tests speak against this.

    Here is what I would do next:

    • Create a new account and check if the issue persists under that account.
    • Press Shift+Restart to boot the machine into Repair Mode. Open a Command Prompt and check if the problem persists.
