    Size of all files don't add up to total space used shown in 'This PC'


    My system drive C drive filled up completely and I have no idea how. I tried to check for files that might be eating up space in my C drive but even after adding up the sizes of all the files in the drive, it doesn't add up to the amount that is shown by in 'This PC' window. The storage panel in the setting window show that my C drive is completely filled up with no byte to spare, and a huge portion of it is filled up due to temporary files. I tried cleaning those temporary files from the storage window only but it doesn't seem to do anything, so I tried to locate and delete them manually, b

    Partition size and total disk space don't match

    Even though the partition size for Disk 0 is 953.87 GB, the total capacity shows up as 793 GB in the list of properties. There isn't any unallocated space, and Drive E (Disk 1's second partition) has a capacity equal to the partition's size. How would I
    make the shown capacity equal to the partition size?

    Unused disk space can also affect the storage capacity of your device. To isolate your concern, we'd like to check the status of your disk storage. To do this, follow these steps:

    • Right click the Windows icon or the Start menu.
    • Select Disk Management.
    • Once you're in the Disk Management dialog box, check for any unallocated volume. If possible, attach as screenshot of the
      Disk Managementwindow on your next post.

    Size of all files don't add up to total space used shown in 'This PC'

    showing the total of folders/files in drive root

    Properties are shown differently for folders and roots.
    Root properties only shows used and free space.
    Folder properties shows Size, Size on Disk, number of files/folders.
    Questions:
    1 - How can I discover on the root drive the total of folders and files on drive?
    2 - Better, how could I list the number of files within each folder?
    3 - Even better, how could I list the total of subfolders and files at each level within the tree branches?
