Windows 10: Size of document in Preview Pane on File Explorer is very small

I am running my new laptop with a secondary desktop monitor and having an issue with the size of documents in the File Explorer Preview Pane being very small, regardless of how large the Preview Pane window is. I'm running the same setup I had with a previous laptop and never ran into this issue before, however the Display Resolution on the new laptop is much greater.


Laptop Resolution: 3840x2160 Recommended Scale: 250% Recommended

Desktop Monitor Resolution: 2560x1440 Recommended Scale: 100% Recommended


Basically when I've got File Explorer opened on the laptop screen, it previews like normal. See below:

Setting the Preview pane to show or hide in File Explorer will apply to all folders. If you wish to hide the Preview pane in File Explorer, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Open File Explorer.
• Tap on View tab.
• Click Preview Pane to view/hide it.

Windows 10 File Explorer Preview Pane - resizing doesn't resize the file being previewed!

In Windows 7 (from which I upgraded), if you made the Preview Pane in file explorer bigger by dragging the edge of it, the document being previewed, in that pane, would be previewed larger. E.g., an image would get larger, for better viewing.

In Windows 10, changing the pane size does not change the size of the previewed document.

How to fix?
