Windows 10: Skip driver installation for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices

I have following problem:

I want be able to connect heart rate sensors via BLE to my windows 10 pc. Not all at the same time device, but one after another. Every customer brings his own sensor.

Windows always needs to install drivers if a device is first paired/connected even it the same device type was already connected before. For example when I want to connect a polar h7 heart rate sensors, Windows needs to install drivers although another polar h7 sensor was already connected before this one. Shouldn't it be possible for windows to use the already installed driver and skip new installation...

I have to wait several seconds before I can use the sensors in my application and first pairing in application fails because windows is still installing drivers. The customers won't accept this.

Is there a way that windows will skip driver installation if the same device type was connected before. Or is it at least possible to do it quicker?

Lumia 830 Bluetooth Low-Energy Support?

Oh oh. I bought a Lumia 830 because the specs says it supports Bluetooth 4.0 which I thought meant it support Bluetooth Low-Energy (aka "BLE" and "Smart Bluetooth").



But I'm trying to pair a heartrate monitor to it and I get a "couldn't connect" message after 30 seconds of it trying to pair.



Doesn't the 830 support BLE? If not, is there an update planned to add support? What is that update and when is it being released?

Hi, I've seen a few questions around BLE. As I've been wanting to be able to use home-automation products with BLE, I recently contacted KEVO (Unikey) about their "interest" in developing an app for their smart lock, I got this reply back:

"With the introduction of the 8.1 OS, Windows phones have the ability to pair with most BLE devices. There are two forms of communication needed to pair. Central Communication (listener) and Peripheral Communication (talker).

Unfortunately the Windows phone only operated centrally, as do the Kevo, so pairing is not an option at this time.

We have had the same problem with Android, up until this month when the finally will be releasing Android L.

We are developeing the Android app now and we really hope that Windows will make the improvements to BLE capabilities as well."

Is above correct and if yes, should we expect WP8.1 to support this?

Bluetooth Low Energy Windows 10

Hello,

i have a strange Problem with my Windows PC. The list of my Bluetooth low energy device is growing and i am unable to remove them.

When i try to remove them in the device Manager, they appear back after a restart.

On initial bonding the device was asking for a passkey and everything was fine. After a reboot the device was listed in the device Manager with Status_power_failure and i am unable to remove them. And Pairing with this device is impossible.

Updating the drivers, switching of WLAN and BLuetooth and then remove the devices does not work.

I tried this with different Bluetooth sticks (CSR, Intel and Broadcom). Every stick has the same behaviour.

Anyone an idea on how to solve this ?
