Windows 10: Skype - A more modern, mobile way to stay close

A few months ago we told you about our plans to modernize Skype with our next generation call infrastructure and improved call quality, available in the most recent releases of all major desktop and mobile platforms.

We’re continuously looking for ways to improve and simplify the ways you use Skype, so over the course of the next several weeks we’ll be making some changes to the experience.

Keep the call going, even when you leave

Now, when the person who initiates a call hangs up, the call will carry on smoothly no matter who leaves or joins the conversation. This means that the discussion won’t be interrupted if someone has to greet an unexpected visitor at the door, or even if dinner is ready.

Simplifying the way you make calls

Starting with Android and coming to iOS soon after, the “Call phones” tab will become the “Calls” tab. From there, you’ll have access to fast, simple one-tap calling of all types—free Skype-to-Skype audio or video calls, as well as calls to mobile or landline numbers that require you to use Skype Credit. Purchasing Skype Credit will become a lot simpler too. So you’ll benefit from being able to call any group or individual from a single place, with a single tap.

A new way to listen to voicemail

In response to the decline in traditional voicemail use, we’ve decided to modernize the way you can leave a message by using the richness and personal nature of video. You can also leave a simple chat message if you prefer, all integrated natively into your chat with the person or group you tried to call. As we roll this feature out, here’s what you’ll see if your call isn’t answered:

If you love using Skype’s traditional voicemail delivery, or simply can’t live without it, fear not. We’ll continue to support the ability to receive voicemail (with settings controllable in the Skype account portal), however custom voicemail greetings, email notifications and SMS transcription will no longer be available.

how can I update HTC HD2 and download software

Any updates (if they exist) for the HTC HD2 can be found on HTC's website.

There is no official way to update the HTC HD2 to Windows Phone 7 or 8.

Microsoft closed it's Marketplace for Windows Mobile devices more than a year go, so trying to get apps through the Marketplace option on the phone doesn't work any more (neither does the Find my Phone feature that was also discontinued by Microsoft a long
long time ago).

You can still find windows mobile applications if you search the internet a little although the apps you find are no longer actively supported (so no updates) and you won't find more modern apps that you might want to install on the phone (like there is no
windows mobile version of Skype or WhatsApp, etc),

nokia 6700 skype or messenger is not working properly

Hi.. the nokia 6700 on a 3 contract comes with skype. When i try to minimise the application it says closing application and literally it closes down the application. It dosent stay minimised or hide. As i contacted my service provider they say that nokia
6700 was build this way. If it has been build like this its sad that i have one. Can some one from Nokia confirm this?? There is no point of using skype when it closes down. Can Nokia update the firmware version so that applications can stay ??? Apart from
this 6700 is a master piece but it dosent have a secondary camera...

FINALLY!!!

I don't know how often that has happened when our TF clique has a group conversation, the initiator leaves, and then we need to reestablish the call. It was really nerving when someone was in sharing their desktop and showing/explaining something.
