    Skype constantly crashing computer?


    After a bit of time spent away from home, I came back and turned on my computer, only to realize that it crashes constantly. I can't be on a call for longer than about 20 minutes, without it crashing. Same thing with discord, only happens with video calls though

    Skype (8.34.0.81) is crashing constantly while on a call

    Hi,

    this is happening to me constantly for the last month. Skype, the metro app, i guess the latest version, is crashing all the time. While I am on a call, it's closing out of nowhere and it's disappearing from my desktop. I start a new call and after seconds or minutes it's happening again. I did the big October update, since it's like a reinstall and I was hoping that it's gonna be fixed. Can someone help me to troubleshoot?? I thought it was something connected with my vga, but I removed and refreshed everything that had to do with amd drivers.
    The error is usually the same when i check at the event viewer. Check for the last hour, how many times it happened to me. What is this dxgi.dll that is creating the issue???

    Although, not one of my favourite programs, Skype is considered a high priority software application. The latest 3.5.0.239 release, is now available for download and it fixes some major bugs:
    • bugfix: Links with invalid % encodings were executed
    • bugfix: Data execution protection may have crashed Skype
    • bugfix: Pressing escape did not end call
    • Security improvements to ensure it is no longer possible to shut down Skype from a web page

    I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
    Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
    What happens?
    If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

    P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
    Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
    What X1800XT model do you own exactly?
