Windows 10: skype constantly running in background using a lot of ram

skype constantly running in background using a lot of ram, messing up my music production work, i am getting underruns in my daw because of skype running in background, while i have removed skype from my pc and it keeps showing up in the task manager................... please explain.
when i close skype in task manage suddenly my pc runs much more smooth in the daw -_-

Skype doesn't run in background, does it?

its truth. SKYPE DOES NOT RUN IN BACKGROUND.

all the answers below are not 100% right. Yes skype gives the message notifications but after about 15 - 20 minutes delay.

Me too has got some big loss with this windows phone. i have missed my important business messages on skype and very very important business calls on skype. This gave a big loss.

Microsoft is paying more attention on Android and IOS more than its own made Windows 10 platform. it is constantly avoiding Windows phones.

I have written to Microsoft about this problem earlier, but nothing happened.

I will must switch my phone to any other platform soon.

 

How do we stop the Photos app from running as a background process and consuming a lot of memory?
