what has wp7 got to do with spyke ?

WP7 has no Skype integration yet so either he sent message as SMS (the account balance might take a while to update). The second possibility is that he connected Skype to Facebook and sent the message via Facebook. However, you mention you do not have a
Facebook account on your phone so that is not an option. Therefor the only possible option is the SMS via Skype.
