Windows 10: Skype not working since update

I waited a long time to update to the latest Skype for desktops, and now that I have, it's completely broken. It will only occasionally let me log in, and when it does, it will not let me click anything. Behaves almost like a frozen window, except there are still moving animations within the window.


I've tried to uninstall and reinstall, but I encounter the same issues.

I tried to reset the Skype UWP, but it won't even respond to any of my commands. Uninstalling does nothing -- it says it's uninstalling, but never does. When I click 'Advanced Settings,' it gets stuck and never populates the advanced settings window, so I can't even restart the app!


When I run Windows Troubleshoot tool, it says "Handing or crashing apps, Not fixed," but I have literally no other way to fix it. None of the normal steps are working. What do I do? Is this a problem with Skype?

Firmware 3.90 with Skype Now Available on Network Update

Fanboy reports that the PSP 3.90 firmware update is now available. The new firmware available only through Network Update will bring Skype for all PSP-2000 models. Here are the official details:

• Support for PLAYSTATION Network titles has been expanded.
• Skype has been added as a feature under Network. (Only for PSP-2000 series)

Skype requires a PSP headset in order to work properly.

Skype?

As this is a now quite established messenger system of sorts perhaps a Skype feature for people skype names so perhaps some real time problem solving/discussions could be mounted?
Just a wee suggestion.

Skype "can't access sound card" for microphone

• Which version of Skype have you installed on your computer?

As a workaround, I suggest you to check if there are any updates for the Skype app in Windows Store. If so, try to install the updates and check if it helps.

Also, I recommend you to check with the settings in Skype app.

Step 1: Check configuration in Skype

Normally, you will receive the message about recording device error, if the microphone or the webcam is not configured properly in Skype.



To check configuration:

• Open Skype and navigate to tools
• Click options and check for sound device.

Step 2: Verify in the recording tab if the Microphone is enabled and working.

To check:

• Click Start, click Control Panel
  
• Click Soundand click Audio.
