Windows 10: Skype Wouldn't Update

I use Skype you can get from Skype.com; it's not Skype Preview that comes with Windows 10. That's junk, in my not so humble opinion.

I attempted to upgrade Skype from version 7.25.0.103, but got so far and was told "The specified account already exists." Next, I was told the upgrade failed. I tried at least four times, rebooted system, etc., but nothing worked.










I had nothing to lose, so I then uninstalled Skype and reinstalled it. Once that was done, I looked and was up to version 7.25.0.104, but I knew 7.25.0.106 was out there waiting for me. So, I checked for updates, was told there were updates to be had, so, with a very reluctant mouse, I clicked and . . .

Whew, I am now up to version 7.25.0.106!

Has this happened to anyone else, or is it something I alone have experienced?

The final kick is that they are stopping Skype for windowsphone 8.1

If I had skype I wouldn't care a lot to upgrade.

But Skype is very important to me.

Well, Skype should be coming soon considering Microsoft owns Skype now. And I wouldn't rely on Skype for Android either since it has to be built for each individual handset and availability seems limited.
