  1. Sleep command not working after installing then deleting shortcut

Help! I am not an advanced user. Just bought a new HP wireless keyboard and it doesn't have a sleep button. So a webpage advised to create a shortcut on the taskbar, C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendStateThis didn't work, and now the Sleep function doesn't work consistently -- Windows > Power icon > Sleep sometimes just locks the PC. I tried to find the file above to delete it, but could not.I need step-by-step help, please.

    :)

I didn't see on your list using Win-X to bring up the basic setup of system tools like the original control panel, easy access to device manager, etc. not technically a list of commands, but at least a shortcut *Smile Sleep command not working after installing then deleting shortcut :)

  3. Cortana Command

    Hi,

Commanding Cortana to perform the sleep function is possible. You can use Cortana to command a device to go to sleep mode by creating a shortcut for the sleep function. Follow these steps to do:

    • Open the File Explorer.
    • Navigate to this location: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs.
    • Right-click inside the Programs folder and then select the New Shortcut option.
    • In the location field, type the following: rundll32.exe powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState 0,1,0.
    • Name it Sleep.
    • To test if the function is already working, say "Hey Cortana, open Sleep".

Keep us updated with the result.
