Windows 10: Sleep Mode Booting Up Incorrectly

Something is wrong with my pc when I sleep it. I will walk you through what happens in order


1. I sleep my pc and it turns of correctly, my screen turns off and so does my pc.

2. I use my keyboard to wake it up from sleep and when I do my monitor gives me a screen with no signal. HDMI 1 My keyboard, mouse, and mic start to light up / Turn on.

3. Next my keyboard, mouse, and my mic turn off and my computer starts to go through the boot up proccess as if it was Shut Down.
4. I see the Aorus Logo and after that the windows logo.

5. It brings me to my password screen to put in my PIN.


Everything I had open was now closed and I lose all progress made before I “slept” my pc.


How to I fix this sleep issue?

CPU: Ryzen 9 3900x

GPU: GeForce RTX 2070 MSI

Cooling: NZXT’s X53 Kraken

SSD: Samsung 970 EVO PLUS NVME 1TB

There could be other settings on your computer that triggers your computer to go on sleep even though the sleep settings is set to never. To ensure that the sleep and display settings are properly set, I suggest that you look into the Advanced Power Settings.
Follow these steps:

• Open Control Panel and click Power Options.
• On your preferred plan, click Change plan settings.
• Click advanced power settings.
• Expand Sleep option, and make sure to set the following:

Sleep after : Never

Hibernate after : Never

5. Click Apply, then OK.

Please check also the screen saver option.

• Navigate to Settings > Personalization > Lock screen.
• Click Screen saver settings.
• Set your Screen saver to None.
• Click Apply, then OK.

Once done, please observe if your computer still goes to sleep mode after a few minutes of inactivity.
