Windows 10: Sleep mode closing all apps

Not sure if flair is right, but for whatever reason, whenever my laptop wakes up from sleep mode, any apps that I had opened before (Chrome, Word, etc) are all closed. When I tried to open Chrome, it said that it failed to shut down properly. Any idea as to why this is happening. Tried multiple solutions, like allowing hybrid sleep and turning off fast startup, but none of those really worked.

I appreciate if you could answer few questions to narrow down the issue and to provide you better assistance.

• What is the make and model of your PC?
• Do you see the light on the power button blinking when the computer is in sleep mode?
• When you press the power button, will the computer restarts or wakes from sleep?

I suggest you to try using different Power plan and check if the issue persist in the new Power plan.
If issue persist, try running Power troubleshooter and check if issue is resolved. To do so kindly follow the below given steps:

Running Power troubleshooter:

• Type troubleshooting in the search bar.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click on Power.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
• Check if issue persists.

Win 10 - constantly shutting down into sleep mode every 64 minutes even when in active use!

• Did you check by setting sleep mode option to never?

If not, I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Navigate to Start>Settings>System>Power & sleep.
• In the right pane, select Never from the drop down list for
  Screen and Sleep.
• Close the dialog box and check for status.
