  1. Sleep Mode no longer works after Windows 10 Feature Update

I recently got a Windows 10 Feature update (it was automatic), and now my sleep mode doesn’t work. When I click to go to sleep mode, all it does is make the display black, but the computer doesn’t actually go to sleep. The power light remains lit (which it turned off before), and the computer makes noises. If I just simply move the mouse, it just resumes without me having to even go through the log in screen.

Now I thought I could fix this issue by going to Power Management -> Advanced Power Settings and checking some power options, but all the options are gone after this new update! I only have the most basic customizable options. There used to be boxes where I can like check “disable wake timer” and drop downs like wireless adapter/wifi/battery, etc. but now it’s gone. How do I get these options back? Is anyone else having trouble getting their computer to go to sleep after a recent feature update? Thanks.

Edit: My advanced power settings is the same issue this person has (except his/her is a new computer): https://superuser.com/questions/1536904/windows-10-power-options-missing-on-new-laptop The left picture is what I have now but I used to have the right picture before the Feature Update.

I have no idea if this is related to the bigger issue of not being able to put the computer to sleep though but it would help if I could get all my options back. I guess my other question is could it be possible this Feature update changed the way of how my computer sleeps? As in it used to be when it went to sleep, all the power lights turned off but now the power light remains on and only the screen display goes black?

Windows 10 Sleep Mode no longer working

I upgraded to Windows 10 with no issues. After about a week, sleep mode stopped working. It works fine if I force it into sleep mode by selecting Power...Sleep. But, it will no longer go into sleep on it's own once the specified time interval has elapsed.
I tried a couple of suggestions offered on this subject:

Under advanced settings.....Multimedia.... I set "Sharing Media" to "Allow to sleep".

Under sleep I enabled "Hybrid Sleep".

Neither of the above had any affect. Are there any other suggestions? Perhaps there is a way of determining which function is causing the laptop to NOT enter sleep mode?

    Thanks.

  3. Windows 7 sleep mode shutsdown

Just a quick update: Windows no longer reverts back to the BIOS after sleep mode. I used CCleaner to fix the registry and that did the trick

sleep mode and power options not working on Windows 10

    Hi,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Forums.

For issues with sleep mode and power options follow the steps provided below.

Run the Power troubleshooter and check.

Follow the steps to run the troubleshooter:

    • Open Control Panel.
    • Type Troubleshooting in search and click
      Troubleshooting.
    • Now type Power in the search option.
    • Click on Power troubleshooter to run.

I would suggest you to try updating the Display driver and check if the issue persists. If you already have all the latest drivers from Windows updates, then I would suggest you to visit the computer manufacturer's website, download and install the latest
drivers in compatibility mode and check.

    Hope this helps.
