Sleep option completely gone, like it never existed. Can't find at all

So right after i got the creators update, i had to transfer my PC from one case to another. In that process, the BIOS got reset, not that i ever really played with power saving features aside from ones necessary to overclock. Regardless, i always preferred to sleep my system.

However, its gone. No option to sleep exists anywhere i look. I've googled and googled and tried all sorts of other solutions posted online, all to no avail. I need help getting my sleep option back. I heavily rely on it. Any advice?

Build is: version 1703 OS Build 15063.332
Motherboard is Intel DZ77GA-70k
-Already updated graphics drivers to newest
-device manager shows no conflicts or unknown devices
-even some command line commands to induce sleep do nothing

Here are some pics:

Bluetooth Missing Completely Like it never existed

Surface Pro 4

I turned on the device from OFF, with the keyboard connected. No Arc mouse working. Search for Bluetooth and nothing listed. In Settings there is no Bluetooth listing on the left where it normally is. Nor can find any control panel.

I ran the troubleshooter for hardware devices, but after 10 minutes of it trying to do something, I had to cancel because I did not know if it was doing anything, and thought 10 minutes is long enough for the poor thing since I have only put in a few programs
and it is new.

Various fixes in other threads and forums have not helped.

This might be similar to my Rotation button and any rotation settings not being in Search nor in the Action center which comes and goes randomly.

Bluetooth Missing Completely Like it never existed

I restarted and it was there again, I could search under Bluetooth, it appeared in Settings>Devices and works with the mouse.

Not sure what happened nor why other fixes did not work.

What is concerning is why it happens.

Hopefully MS will take the time to look into this and provide an update perhaps so as it is starting up, Bluetooth works.

In your pic of Power Options it shows the Sleep setting on Disable. Are you unable to change that setting?

In your BIOS, are there any power state settings? Many newer motherboards do not have these anymore.

5. Helgaiden Win User
No the setting you see is "allow wake timers" which i had previously set to disable to help keep windows from waking my PC out of sleep to run updates. Generally there are supposed to be other options in there to tell the PC how long before it sleeps, etc.

I scoured the BIOS for any relevant power settings but there was nothing glaring at me. Though i wouldn't think that any BIOS settings would completely remove all signs of sleep in any context menu everywhere in windows. Here is a pic of the most relevant BIOS power menu area if it helps.

You have a modern UEFI BIOS. There will be no Power State settings there.

You might try and see if you can Enable Sleep in the Power Options. Just to see if it will enable.
You can toggle the Sleep mode OR the Wake Timers.

Open an elevated command prompt and type this message so we can see if the BIOS is allowing Windows to sleep:

powercfg -a

Here's mine with S3 sleep enabled:

I have a UEFI BIOS and I have the ability to control the sleep states.

Here is the setting that controls it in my BIOS:

If you give us your mobo specs, maybe I can look it up for you.

Hmm... Lacking any response from the OP, I guess he found the option. Later team.

nah i got busy, the mobo is in the OP. Intel DZ77-GA70k. I'll look through it again but im not sure i'll find anything.

Support for Intel® Desktop Board DZ77GA-70K

edit: looked through it again and further scrutinized everything, still no luck

I looked at your mobo manual and they make mention of a sleep switch in the front and then a color indicating the sleep state:

1.12.1 ACPI
ACPI gives the operating system direct control over the power management and Plug and Play functions of a computer. The use of ACPI with this board requires an operating system that provides full ACPI support. ACPI features include:
• Plug and Play (including bus and device enumeration)
• Power management control of individual devices, add-in boards (some add-in boards may require an ACPI-aware driver), video displays, and hard disk drives • Methods for achieving less than 15-watt system operation in the power-on/standby sleeping state
• A Soft-off feature that enables the operating system to power-off the computer
• Support for multiple wake-up events (see Table 9 on page 40)
• Support for a front panel power and sleep mode switch
Table 7 lists the system states based on how long the power switch is pressed, depending on how ACPI is configured with an ACPI-aware operating system.
Table 7. Effects of Pressing the Power Switch If the system is in this state…

…and the power switch is
pressed for …the system enters this state

Off
(ACPI G2/G5 – Soft off)

Less than four seconds Power-on
(ACPI G0 – working state)

On
(ACPI G0 – working state)

Less than four seconds Soft-off/Standby
(ACPI G1 – sleeping state)

On
(ACPI G0 – working state)

More than six seconds Fail safe power-off
(ACPI G2/G5 – Soft off)

Sleep
(ACPI G1 – sleeping state)

Less than four seconds Wake-up
(ACPI G0 – working state)

Sleep
(ACPI G1 – sleeping state)

More than six seconds Power-off
(ACPI G2/G5 – Soft off)

Instantly Available PC technology enables the board to enter the ACPI S3 (Suspend-to-RAM) sleep-state. While in the S3 sleep-state, the computer will appear to be off (the power supply is off, and the front panel LED is amber if dual colored, or off if single colored.) When signaled by a wake-up device or event, the system quickly returns to its last known wake state. Table 9 on page 40 lists the devices and events that can wake the computer from the S3 state. The board supports the PCI Bus Power Management Interface Specification. Add-in boards that also support this specification can participate in power management and can be used to wake the computer.
The use of Instantly Available PC technology requires operating system support and PCI 2.2 compliant add-in cards, PCI Express add-in cards, and drivers.

They also lists the available sleep states and suspent to RAM is on of them:

G1 – sleeping
state

S3 – Suspend to
RAM. Context
saved to RAM.

Unfortunately, they do not show any BIOS option but I would look for something in the ACPI area and a G1 option. At this point, I would suggest you download your mobo manual and read it.

Good luck,

Thank you. Could it be a physical switch or something? header wiring? There doesn't seem to be anything much beyond the BIOS pic of the power menu posted above regarding any of that.

I found this video and your sleep states options are easily identified under the power tab in your bios:

Starting at the 11:45 minute mark, you will see the S3 suspend to ram option.

Did you even look at your BIOS?

I really hope we have been able to help you because there is nothing more I can do at this point.

Good luck,

Are you kidding me with that response?

"did you even look at your BIOS?"
I posted an image of that exact screen in my BIOS at the point you reference in the video.
Nevermind the fact i stated multiple times I that i scrutinized my BIOS settings...

Did you even look at my posts in this thread?
