Help! 'Slide to shutdown' immediately appears when turning on my laptop. It occurs the second that the Windows screen appears, and it immediately shuts down my laptop within just a second or two, giving me no chance to try to even access my settings or any other program that might allow me to find a solution. I have tried tapping on the screen and clicking it with my mouse to cancel it on the rare occasions that it gave me an extra second to try this, but 99% of the time, the laptop just shuts down within seconds of the message coming on my screen. I work from home, so this has really hurt

1. Click the “K” menu in the bottom left corner.
2. Click “Logout”.
3. Knoppix will begin shutting down.
4. The Knoppix CD will be ejected.
5. Remove the CD and close the tray.
6. Press Enter on the keyboard.
7. Knoppix will attempt to turn off the computer automatically. If it doesn't turn off automatically, it is now safe to turn off the computer yourself using the power button.

My hp laptop wont turn on

Flea power is usually the culprit here, basically its residual power that remains on the computer even after thecomputer has been shutdown. You can drain the flea power with the steps the other answers have suggested.

• Disconnecting the battery and adapter
• Press the hardpress the power button for 30 seconds
• This should clear the flea power
