    Slight lag using windows and explorer


    Recently done a complete reinstall of windows 11 as was having some issue. Ended up installing it on a new drive I had, a Samsung 980 Pro 2TB.Ever since reinstalling it feels like windows is always abit laggy/delayed. When I open a new explorer window or sometimes just navitage windows everything is abit delayed. Never had this problem before. I thought it might be the drive but it doesnt need any updates and doing a performance benchmark through samsung magician it's reading and writing as it should. Just wondering if anyone has any idea what it may be?Thanks

    Windows Explorer Replacement?

    are you running IE7? if not that wouold be my first suggestion,upgrade to ie7 that can fix some stability issues with windows explorer

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Thanks ever so much for your help. No corruption detected. I forgot to mention i do have 2 SSD drives that i have haf for over 5 years too
