    Slightly older MSI laptop fails when updating every time, how to disable completely.


    Its 5 or so years old now. I've tried doing update troubleshooting with no success, and at this point I don't use it for too much as the battery is shot and it lives on my desk, so just for when I want to work there instead of my other laptop. I googled a couple of ways to disable auto updates and it hasn't stopped, and it has reached the point where every hour it gives me a 30 minute countdown to automatically restarting and installing the update. Letting it happen just results in a long update process followed immediately after by it saying the update failed and undoing changes.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

    ATI Win XP macrovision disable failed

    I downloaded the ATITool 0.0.23 for many reasons and a strong reason was in order to disable the Macrovision on my All in wonder 9000 pro but it failed; I have the latest drivers from ati.com (9.03).I have tried the older programs that are floating on the internet that also try to disable macrovision before ATITool might these older programs cause ATITool not to disable Macrovision properly. Any other suggestions to disable macrovision?

    Thank you for your suggestions. The MSI support page actually takes me to the Drivers cape site that you suggested and they want just under $30 to update drivers on one PC. I'll try the other site.
