Windows 10: Slow Browser

Hi, my browser is extremely slow to load web pages as soon as there are multiple sites open. I have run disk clean up and defrag. I took it in to scan for malware and viruses, then did a system back up. I also called the internet provider to see if that was the problem, he said it was slow but the problem was within the computer.

So, do I need a new computer or can I get away with upgrading?

I have an Acer Aspire X, 1 TB hard drive, 6 GB DDR3 memory, Intel Pentium G640 processor

Any advise?

Slow Browser

Hi Susan,

To address your concern, we would like to know the following:

Have you already performed a speedtest for your internet connection?

Does your other devices experience the same slowness in browsing?

Have you turned off your addons on your browsers?

For the meantime, you can perform a reset on your Internet Explorer 11 / Microsoft Edge by following the steps on this

link.

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.

Method 1: I would suggest you to clear the cache and cookies and check if it helps.

To clear Cookies
1.Open IE, Go to Tools -> Internet options
2.Under Browsing History, Click Delete.
3. In the next pop-up window, Ensure Coockies check box is checked and click on Delete.
To clear Cache
1. Open IE, Press F12, then Ctrl + R
2.A pop-up "Are you sure you want to clear browser cache" pops up
3. Select Yes.

If issue still persists try method 2.

Method 2. Run Network adaptor trouble shooter

You may try Microsoft Automated Troubleshooting Services as a first step to diagnose and repair common Network issues.

To run the trouble shooter follow the steps given below

Press Windows key+ X key, Select Control Panel.

Click on Troubleshooting, Click View All.

Click Network Adaptor and follow the instructions

I am still having slow browser problems I have tried all of the suggestions and nothing works it is no good making suggestions for I.E. as I am not using it, I am using Edge or Firefox I really do not know what else I can do someone must know what will
work, just to reiterate an initial search will bring up in Google or Bing results of my search then when I select the most likely from the display I get the circle going round and round in the address bar then the usual time out, something fundamental is wrong,
Microsoft must have an answer

I have still not resolved this slow browser problem it doesn't matter what site I am trying to access most times I get a timeout message don't forget I am using Edge or Firefox not I.E. Edge seems to be the worst offender
