Windows 10: Slow Data copy/paste SPEEDS in WINDOWS 10

Hello Guyz, I encountered a problem after upgrading to windows 10. I had extremely slow data transfer speed from any storage media. I myself found a fix for it. I didn't have this prob in win 7. I hope that u understand.

Slow USB data transfer speed on 3500 classic

are you sure that it's the transfer speed that is slow, or is it the computer that is slow?

for example vista is well known in having a slow responce to copy-paste requests, and usually takes a long time to transfer files.

if you are on vista , try using a third-party application that speeds up the copy-paste process.

Copy/Cut Paste to Internal/External Storage is getting very Slow !

I bought my lenovo G50 laptop in January with pre-installed windows 10,on that time speed of copy/cut paste speed was very good, then i updated my windows 10 to its Anniversary update and bang!! speed of copy paste is gone even while using 3.0 Pendrives
on 3.0 Port the speed was only 8 mpbs..! and same speed while copying from one disk partition to another! and then again i updated my windows 10 to its Creator Update wondering that these copy/cut paste problem will be solved in this but that update made it
worst , now speed of copy/cut paste is never getting higher than 1mbps even on 3.0 USB port or while copy/cut paste on internal storage. it takes 20 minutes to copy 2GB of data to from my internal storage to any External storage device!

I just copied a 5 GB and it transported at speeds of 90 Mb/s
Before the change Maximum speed was 30 Mb/S
Now it works properly.

Running defragmentation constantly for all drives ?
Surely that's going to reduce life expectancy for those devices.
Or, will the service stop running after a while ?

I have also worried about it. But I did check it. If also it is set to run at system startup, the service does not do anything. It will only start to run after a data transfer occurs between drives. As you know, whenever windows finds a drive as completely defragmented, it stops doing so and only scans in idle bandwidth allocation. It won't cause any damage since it is not running defragmentation constantly. It only helps the system to clean bad sectors.

I can see how it may help on a heavily fragmented HDD but on a SSD I very much doubt it.

I hope you get the point. The service doesnt do what i told. Actually I was speaking of defragmentation commonly. People need fix for their prob. Im sure it wont harm anything.

Actually, all you need to do is turn off "Real Time Protection" in your antivirus and things move along just nicely.
The problem seems to be that real time protection checks everything.
If you have *.exe files, it comes to a full stop.
Of course you must be sure that all the files are free from viruses.

 

I had this problem and it was severely messing me up using external drives.
