    Blue Swirling Circle

Upgrade to Win 10 was flawless. Since upgrade I get a Blue Swirling Circle next to my cursor when I click on tabs or pages. it slows down my connection and is evident ever since upgrade to 10 not 8.1? Do I downgrade to 8.1? Will I get free upgrade later?
    Its slowing down my productivity.

  3. Ultra-slow games since Anniversary Upgrade

Since the "Anniversary Upgrade" my games have slowed down to a snail's pace. I've already tried to delete "Microsoft Solitaire Collection" to reinstall it. They doesn't appear to be possible. I've shut down my computer, turned off the electricity, and
rebooted. Doesn't help. I've gone into Control Panel Programs and Features, hoping to repair is, but it's not listed there. Help!

Hi, explorer.exe shouldn't be using any significant CPU, but is at the top of your list.
Which program does Trayststatus.exe belong to?

Do you have both IOLO with its AV and Zone Alarm and its AV installed- or just one active real time AV scanner?

    - example please?
    Do you mean
    - browsing with file explorer
    - opening a file e.g. with some program that displays its content?

    There are numerous possibilities e.g.
explorer.exe high CPU usage - tried everything I can think of Solved - Windows 7 Help Forums
(Ok it's a Win 7 example, but just shows...)

    Or could be malware. E.g.
Explorer.exe high CPU usage, probably not malware - TechSpot Forums
(You need to read down to about 2/3 through the first page and on).
Then run malware cleaners such as Bitdefender, Malwarebytes, Adwcleaner

Might be a file system or disk problem:Check your disk:
    HDD Sentinel (trial)
    chkdsk C: /scan

Compare Safe Mode and a clean boot.

Been a while Tray status report was a helper program which I have removed with some improvement but explorer.exe still is very busy

Any request to open a program or once in a browser was running very slow & cpu WAS tracking almost 100% all the time. Will dig deeper as time permits

    Disc check looks good

    Hi,

You need to record a trace to know what's causing this high CPU usage. Here is what you have to do:

    • Open a command line as Administrator;
    • Type this command "wpr -start generalprofile -start CPU"; this will start trace recording.
    • While recording the trace, try to work on your system for about 2 minutes.
    • Then type this command to stop trace recording "wpr -stop C:\Temp\MyTrace.etl". Make sure the folder where you record the trace exist.
    • Compress the resulting file (Important)
    • Share it through TransferNow or any other file sharing platform.

I'llanalyze your trace file and give you a feedback.

    See you

wpr -start generalprofile -start CPU Are there perhaps some spaces that need to be entered after first start ? after generalprofile? before CPU?

Did you run this command in elevated mode (As an administrator) ?

You have to open the command line as Administrator in order to run launch the trace...

Did you actually manage to download and install KB4056892? I'm assuming you are not running an AMD processor?

I'm one of the unlucky few (more like thousands) who has experienced the dreaded BSOD due this Microsoft/AMD cock-up which I had assumed was still unresolved apart from Intel procs?

It wouldn't surprise me at all find this is still the culprit for your problems.
