    Slow Download Speed Even Though High Speed Bandwidth


    I've checked all updates, drivers, internet speed, etc. My downloads still seem to cap around 60mbps. Already tried to ask a Microsoft tech but he didn't know what to do either. Speedtest shows around 900 mbps with 1GB Link Speed up and down. I also have 32 GB of RAM with a 525 SSD So not a memory issue. I myself am an IT Tech and still don't know what's happening.Please Help!!!!

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft forums.

    • I would suggest you to test the speed using any of the speed test website or app to confirm the upload and download speed.
    • I also suggest you to reset the wireless router to check if that helps.
    • You may plug in the Ethernet cable if available and check the speed.

    Slow Download Speed

    Prior to upgrade to Windows 10 my download speed was 70Mbps. After upgrade, averages 30Mbps. My son's laptop running win 8.1 gets the 70Mbps, my tablet gets the same. I have tried suggestions found on the internet,turning off automatic upgrades, changing
    reserved bandwidth in Qs Packet Scheduler. Didn't help. Any suggestions??
