Windows 10: Slow download speed on laptop but fast on phone

Last week I was trying to update a game called Warframe where it was taking me 5 hours to download a 60 MB update and I started to tinker my settings but strangely, at 11pm it started to download quickly so I shrugged it off but I was still a bit sketchy. A week later, I tried to download a 140 MB app on my laptop and it was taking so long that the download said 2000 B/s so I canceled it cause it was so slow. But when I tried downloading the same app on my phone, it took 6 seconds to download and install. I was wondering if I may have accidentally downloaded a virus. I check my windows defende

The download speed has as much to do with the website server where you are downloading a file from as it does with your internet connection speed.



You can have a very fast internet connection, but experience very slow download speeds if the website has a slow server. This could be caused by very heavy traffic on that server or it may just be a slow server.



One thing you can do to check is to go to the following website and check your speed.

Speedtest.net:

Speedtest by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test

Try several different test websites there to see the different download/upload speeds.

Compare the results with the website where you are seeing the slow downloads.

If a website has a slow server, a fast internet connection may be experienced but may have very slow download speeds. Download speed will be affected with the website server as it also impact your internet connection speed.

You may try a test with other websites and check the results with the website that you are experiencing slow download speed.

Fast web browsing, very slow download speed.

The laptop I'm using had a fresh reinstall because of this laptop's last issue (Hard drive isn't recognized, replaced by Acer themselves without my consent), My browsing experience and download speed has no issues, I downloaded Google Chrome, it was really
fast and I uninstalled this McAfee Live anti-virus thingy because I malwarebytes, and have been using malwarebytes since 2012.

After uninstalling the McAfee thing, anything I download is very slow. I tried downloading some pretty big files, but it's very slow. We have like 7.5mbps(937.5kbps) of internet speed at home, but the download speed is only about around 3 to 10kbps. I have
no issues browsing the internet but the downloads is really slow! I've already tried downloading with some download managers and even torrent downloading and it doesn't fix! The download speed is making this laptop very useless, I have to download a 4gb windows
server 2008 for school purposes but the download speed is really bad! I tried downloading from other devices, and the download is doing great with about 400kbps to 600kbps, but this laptop only downloads at around 3 to 10kbps. I could even watch a 1080p60fps
youtube video with no buffering problem.

How can I fix this issue?
