    Ever since 3 days ago, I've had an issue where file explorer takes a long time to load if a click on a file, but is snappy if I click on anything else. I did download an ASUS 'EZflash' firmware update around this time, so that may be a culprit.



    I've tried every google solution under the moon: Dism commands, sfc /scannow, File Explorer Settings, Disabling Windows Search, etc.

    Out of all of the solutions I've tried, only deleting the temp files from "%AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations" works flawlessly. It takes a while for the right-click menu to load but, once I clear all the files, file explorer is suddenly snappy.

    The main issue with this fix is that it's not permanent, once I clear the folder, the issue always rears its ugly head only a few hours later.



    I don't believe this is a hardware issue as I only brought this laptop a month ago and none of its components seem to be a limiting factor (SSD, 10th gen i5, 8 GB RAM).



    Any ideas on what's happening with my computer and how to fix this issue permanently?

    Clear the 'cache' in file explorer for already used picture tags?


    If you set some tags for your *.jpg pictures, the windows 10 file explorer shows them in the "details pane" on the right side.

    This list can get very long and with some wrong or no longer used entries.
    How can I clear this list / cache / suggestions?

    Or how can I stop the file explorer to suggests already used Tags?

    Clear the recent list in File explorer

    When I right click at Windows 10 File Explorer icon on taskbar it shows me pinned and recent items. How to clear the recent list? I tried turning off setting "Show recently opened items in Jump list on Start or the taskbar", and clearing history in file
    explorer under folder options. Nothing worked, list is still there.
