Windows 10: Slow internet speeds outside safe mode

So, we just moved my partners computer over to my place and setting up internet. His speeds are just garbage.I get 80/80 speed, he gets tops 20/0.5 No matter if we switch network cables. The speed is consistent. So it seems located to his computerIn safe mode, he gets good speed. Same if he does a clean boot.We've done a virus check, reset network, checked for updates and removed all startup programs that are not needed.Any suggestions on where to go?

Start your system normally

Get a command prompt. I would then suggest changing the directory to the root making the text files easier to find.

cd\

then the command

net start > norm.txt

This will list all services running in normal mode.

Start in Safe mode

Command prompt

cd\

then

net start > safe.txt

You can then compare these two lists. ( I might copy and paste text into a spreadsheet for comaprison purposes). I've google several articles and they all come back to an AV running in normal mode. I would check the list of services in normal mode. Could be an old AV that you removed but some component remains.

Thanks Tomcat, i refreshed the page then took this the only thing i have not seen before is the LenovoPC.lan could it be the problem?

Slow internet speed on one of your computer could be due to the following:

• Outdated network adapter driver
• Different Wi-Fi chipset
• Computer processing speed

Make sure that the network driver of your computer(s) are always updated.

We also suggest you to contact your internet service provider for them to check your internet connection speed and give you more information.
