Windows 10: Slow internet using WIFI board PRIME B550M-A WIFI II

Hi,I just bought my PC today and I have trouble with internet connection. I have no problem with it using wired, but I do not have a long meter to use since my PC is in my room. I also have no prior problems with wifi range since I have a laptop and the internet works as fast as it should be that I use here inside my room. I have been trying to download the MediaTek drivers in ASUS website but I can't seem to make any progress. The only thing that shows in my device manager when I click "Network adapters" are- Bluetooth Device Personal Area Network- Realtek 8852BE Wireless LAN WiFi 6 PCI-E N

Why is my wifi slow?

I'm just wondering why my wifi connection has slowed down all of a sudden?

My internet is 100-110Mb/ps and I could get a fast connection over wifi. 7-9MB ps





But now, I can barely get over 1Mb per second. Everything seems fine though.

 

Difference between wifi card and on board wifi chip

Hello @sportster, Based on your on board WiFi, it seems that you would benefit from upgrading to a quality WiFi card: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 has a very slow and Unstable connection to Orbi RBR10 Router : HomeNetworking

 

Why is my wifi slow?

Crowded look which channels are populated the most.

If you have a mobile phone you can use an app called Wifi Analyzer it list you all networks and channels otherwise your router does that as well in the config menu.

If all of those option are not available for you try changing the channel randomly in your router wifi setup
