Windows 10: Slow performance except over Remote Desktop.

I switched to W10 about a year ago and upgraded my systems to SSDs. When I run an app, Solidworks for example, and right click on a feature to bring up a dialog it takes several seconds for the dialog to pop up. This should be virtually instantaneous and was OK under W7. This also occurs with MATLAB and several other apps. When I access a computer with Remote Desktop over my LAN, performance is normal !!!! If I close the Remote Desktop session and log back on locally performance is still normal for several hours at least !!!! After 24 hours, it is back to slow performance for sure unless I repeat the above process. HP Z200 workstation and Lenovo Thinkpad running W10 1909 is the environment. I have tried changing performance related settings to no avail.

Please help me with the below details to understand your issue in a better way:

1. Are you using the Microsoft remote desktop app?
   

If you are using the Microsoft remote desktop app downloaded from
Microsoft store then, I suggest you to follow the steps to
fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store.



If the issue still persists with the Microsoft remote desktop app, then you can contact the support team by going to the

link and scrolling down to the bottom and clicking on
Microsoft remote desktop support under the Publisher info.



However, if you are using the Remote desktop connection, which comes pre-installed with Windows 10, then I suggest you to please post your question in the
TechNet forum.

Remote Desktop

Okay guys need some help here before going crazy...
I am trying to setup a remote desktop connection and see exactly what the logged on user is looking at with out going through Windows Remote Desktop.

Since its local network I don't have any password or want to setup a password.

Any suggestions are appreciated

 

Slow remote desktop after windows 10 updates

After the automatic updates of windows 10 I am experience very slow performance (slow graphic update, slow scrolling) on the remote desktop client connecting to Windows 7 remote computers. Before the updates the graphic performance when using the remote
desktop was excellent. These errors happens in 2 local computers with windows 10, and connecting to 2 different remote computers with windows 7.

The status of the connection says: "The quality of the connection to the remote computer is excellent and UDP is enabled"

I am connecting to the same windows 7 remote computer, using a RDP for MAC OS, and the graphic performance is excellent. Therefore there is nothing wrong with the connection or with the remote computer.

What can be done to correct these problems?
