Windows 10: Slow performing PC

I built a PC back in May based on components another friend helped with. Everything ran smoothly for a while but lately it has been dragging and lagging. I've checked CPU usage and found nothing of significant impact. My drives are not even 20% full, and I have optimized drives, rebooted, changed power settings, made sure OS is to to date and nothing is making it any better. I don't even run many things at once. I am not a big computer person, my knowledge is maybe just above the average but I have googled time and again with no effective solutions.

To check which updates were installed recently go to
Settings > Update & Security >
Windows update > View installed update history

Meanwhile, you may want to try the following troubleshooting steps mentioned below:

check if it helps.

If the issue persist, I suggest you refer and follow the suggestions from the article on how to

Note:
Modifying BIOS/ complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS
settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk.

Note: Resetting the computer to factory setting will remove all hard drive data and reinstall the original operating system. I suggest you all you backup
important files and data before performing a factory reset.
