  1. Slow processor after Windows 10 upgrade

Hi, I'm new to this group, so hope I am in the right board.
I have an HP15 Notebook which has been running slow since a Win10 upgrade (Although this might have just heightened the problem). Pentium N3540 processor and 4GB memory.

I installed CPUID HW-MONITOR to try to find the problem and the results, whilst a video was running, were as follows:
    Core 0 2665 MHz Temp 55 Deg
    Core 1 2665 MHz Temp 56 "
    Core 2 2665 MHz Temp 58 "
    Core 3 2665 MHz Temp 58 "

However, after about 1 hour, the results were as follows:

    Core 0 500 MHz Temp 55 Deg
    Core 1 500 MHz Temp 56 "
    Core 2 2665 MHz Temp 59 "
    Core 3 2665 MHz Temp 59 "

No amount of loading would induce the first two cores to go above 500MHz.
Does this indicate that the cpu is faulty or could there be another reason? All drivers are up to date, malaware has been checked for. Could this have been caused by the upgrade to Windows 10 altering anything in BIOS? Any advice would be much appreciated.

    :)

Since upgrading to Win 10 it's only seeing 1 processor, leaving 3 of the quad untouched

In Task Manager it says that there is only one processor, but there is a quad that was working fine on Windows 7 before upgrading to Windows 10.

How do I get Windows 10 to see the rest of the processors? It is so slow, which is frustrating when it is CPU activity that is causing the delays not memory, and I have plenty of processors not being used.

  4. Slow processor after Windows 10 upgrade

There have been a few similar threads where posters have had issues with the results of hardware monitoring apps. Seems like there has been issues with compatibility, and usually trying other, well known apps seem to solve the issue. Try something like CPU-z or Speccy and see if they give the same results or something more accurate.
