Windows 10: Slow restart when sound starts to break up.

I do not think I will get any answers but will try. Every two weeks to a month, I will notice the sound starts to break up at the end of alerts and other notices. The mouse starts to lag a bit, and some of the windows also seem to be slow. This will get worse, so I restart. But the restart will take 8 minutes before the ball stops and actually go into the reboot. I am hesitant to reset as I want the system to go down naturally. After that, any restart is normal until such time I get the sound break up which is a signal to restart again.


I cannot trace this to any action, but something just starts to drag the system down. I cannot see any unnormal activity, and try to shut down as much as I can before restarting.


Probably the answer is to reload software, but I have a very complicated system and it would take a week to rebuild it. The OS is getting huge, about 250G now, so will probably have to do this some time.


Is is ok to just hit the reset switch when it is in blue restart mode and the ball going round?

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue

  Type sounds
  in the control panel.
  
• 
  Click on sounds.
  
• 
  Under program events ,under
  windows just click windows logon.
  
• 
  Enable play start up sounds.
  
• 
  From speech
  select the sound for windows logon.
  
• 
  Click on apply.
  
• 
  Click ok.
  

Method 2

I suggest you to follow the steps below to change the windows log off sound.

  Type sounds in the
  control panel.
  
• 
  Click on sounds.
  
• 
  Under program events ,under
  windows just click windows logoff.
  
• 
  From speech select the sound for
  windows logoff.
  
• 
  Click on apply.
  
• 
  Click ok.
  

If windows logon and logoff options are not available,then in that case you just need to

• 
  Enable play start up sounds.to get the windows start up sound .And by default there will be single sound available for windows logon sound.

Follow the steps mentioned below:

  Right on the start icon and click on device manager
  
• 
  Expand Sound video and Gaming , Select the Audio adapter, right click on un-install.

  Restart the computer.
