Windows 10: Slow restarting win 10

I reinstalled windows 10 about 30 days ago I have been able to keep it malware and virus free, I have run the Windows download virus scan and I use Malware anti-malware. But when I restart my desktop i7 860 it stops at the bio's screen when I can choose f9 or f10 to change the boot order. It will remain on that screen for several minutes 5 or more unless I select f9 to change boot order, it will remain on the screen before being allowed to choose boot order with a flashing cursor and info on my current bios info which is Gevl.310 pxe 2.1 Build 088 WFM 2.0 I have checked with HP and that's the current Bio's for my PC. Oh, there is more. When I am finally able to click on the DVD/CD as my first choice, the reload moves onto the Blue Windows Rectangle and I end up clicking the space bar and finally the windows loading circle appears and this takes an additional 2 or 3 minutes. Finally, it loads. The only strange activity I have from then on is my Logitech mouse is over sensitive, moving the mouse and waiting for the cursor to move a second latter.

this is the first and only computer advise site I have ever used and I started using computers in 1976 with a Univac 418-3 with the Air Force. Back then they told us someday every home in America will have a computer in them and people will be able to wear them on their wrists or carry them in their pocket. Well, it finally happened. I should have gone into programming instead of staying in operation. Thank you for any help. This isn't the first time this has happened that's why I am holding off on doing a reinstall.

Win 10 1607 Restart Issue


I am having a Win 10 1607 restart issue.

In my case the PC tries to restart but the monitor screen goes black and then the monitor screen powers off.

The PC keeps running but will not restart.

I have to push the reset button to restart the PC.

Shut down works fine.

In both restart and shutdown there are no spinning dots...

Can any one help with this restart issue.

I have tried most suggestions on the interwebz:////

My next step is to go back to the previously installed version 1511 in which restart worked then do an upgrade from the 1607 ISO I downloaded.

If this fails I will bite the bullet and do a clean install but I would rather just resolve the issue if I can as I have Win 10 running just the way I like it:///

Just done a fresh install of windows 10. Still got the same problem.
Turn pc on from cold or a restart. Hangs on the win boot logo for a minute or so then boots in to the desktop
cant work it out why its so slow to boot up? any ideas*Mad

This seemed to help. Time will tell. It certainly is more helpful and practical than the suggestion to end toe Explorer task and start a new one.
