  1. Slow Wi-Fi over 5Ghz on Intel AC3168

    Hi,

After 13 hours of trying to fix a problem, which was slow Wi-Fi over the 5Ghz band only for my PC, which runs on Windows 10 and is with the Intel's AC3168 adapter I found a solution and want to share it with you and find why this works.

    The solution was the following:

I downgraded the Wi-Fi driver to the one from Windows:

After doing that the 5Ghz Wi-Fi was still really slow - around 1-5Mbits./s and sometimes it was going up to 20Mbits/s.

Then when I gone to the "Advanced" tab of the Wi-Fi settings and set the HT model from "VHT" to "HT" ac to n the speed jumped like hell:

Can we discuss why this happened, because I found that solution by myself not in the internet and it is really strange...

    :)

  2. Slow Wi-Fi after clean install of Windows 10 v1903

I have Intel 9560 Wi-Fi on my ASUS Z390 motherboard and when I do a clean install of Windows 10 v1903 I get very slow Wi-Fi speed at around 1mbps on speedtest.net. I have Xfinity Gigabit Plan with Arris TG3842G modem. Everything is slow until I manually update the Wi-Fi Driver from Windows Update to v21.10.1.2 through Device Manager which downloads very slowly and sometimes aborts and I have to retry because another driver is already installing in the background. After a few retries the Intel 9560 Wi-Fi driver finally installs and the rest of the drivers go much faster. Why is the inbox Wi-Fi driver that comes with Windows 10 extremely slow at only 1mbps download speed with 40bps upload speed at 5Ghz when running speedtest.net? If I disable and re-enable the Wi-Fi adapter in device manager using the original inbox driver I get normal download speed until the next reboot in which the download speed will become extremely slow.

    Windows 10 Not Receiving 5GHz Wi-Fi

I have recently upgraded to a 150 mbps Wi-Fi plan, and have noticed that my laptop barely scratches 50. Apparently, this is due to the fact that my laptop uses, and can only use, the 2.4 GHz, despite both the laptop and the Wi-Fi stick supporting 802.11a/n. I'm guessing this is a problem with the OS now, but correct me if I'm wrong.
