Windows 10: Slow wifi and inconsistant ping in new windows update december 10th 2022 5ghz

good afternoon. after the new windows 11 update my wifi has seemed to have severely slowed down since the new update in games and downloading and updating things. i checked my speeds and im currently getting 6 mbps when i should be getting over 100mbps. please help me fix this as i cant get my work done as well as play and do other online things. iv got a wifi 6 ax200 160

Slow Ping Wifi Asus Z97 Deluxe external antenna

I fixed the slow internet speed problem by staying on latest wireless driver version V6.34.223.5 for Windows 7 64bit. It turned out my linksys wrt1900ac router was causing the problem with this external asus antenna. I had to change the wireless mode on my router to Mixed NG mode and the speeds were a lot faster except the ping is a little slower than usual. I usually get 10-12 ms ping. The speeds are not stable nor consistent but at least they are faster now. I connected to 2.4ghz network and the speeds are unstable and inconsistent but when I connect to 5ghz network the speeds are much more stable and consistent. I would have expected the 2.4ghz speeds to be faster than 5ghz network but I was wrong. Why is the ping so slow? I usually get 10-12ms ping even through wifi on my other devices. Why are the speeds so unstable and inconsistent on 2.4ghz?

The screenshot with 23ms ping is the 2.4ghz network and the screenshot with 24ms ping is 5ghz network.

 

5ghz wifi not showing windows 10

I just got a new modem/router and it has a 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi connections...Only the 2.4ghz shows in the wifi list while the 5ghz isn't showing at all. My computer's network card does support the 5ghz and I know the 5ghz is working because I can connect to it from other devices...just not my desktop computer.

EDIT: I've attempted updating network driver, also resetting network in the settings menu. Both hasn't worked.

 

5GHz Wifi

Hello. I want to connect to 5GHz wifi, but its not showing up in the connection list. I've done a bit of research and my laptop should be able to connect to the 5GHz band.
