    Slow Windows 10 Shutdown After Using Outlook


    If I NEVER use Outlook during a session on my laptop MS Surface Pro 7, the laptop shuts down within 10 seconds of selecting "Shut Down". If I EVER use Outlook during my laptop session, it takes just over 5 minutes to shut down. It does not matter how long I wait to shut down the laptop after closing Outlook. I can wait 2 minutes or 20 minutes and the result is the same: 5 1/2 minutes to shut down. I have disabled every Outlook Addin except MS Exchange which I believe I need for my outlook.com email. No change. The event viewer has these clues:


    Winlogon Event ID 6005 at 3:48:16 PM

    The winlogon notification subscriber <GPclient> is taking long time to handle the notification event EndShell


    Winlogon Event ID 6006 at 3:52:51 PM

    The winlogon notification subscriber <GPclient> took 335 seconds to handle the notification event EndShell


    Any help or recommended troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated!

    How to install outlook express on windows xp with explorer 8?

    This is an awkward problem to solve and one I don't think is worth the time and effort.

    The OP would be better off either using a modern webmail service like gmail or outlook.com or using a modern email client like Windows Live Mail like FX-GMC suggested or Thunderbird from Mozilla. If nothing else, Outlook Distress was notorious for corrupting its data files and losing all your email in one easy step. Not worth it.

    Windows 10 very slow on shutdown

    Hello,

    I'm having problems shutting down my HP EliteBook after upgrade to Windows 10. It takes up to a couple of minutes before its shutdown. With the previous installed Windows 8 it was not an issue.

    With searching i found some regedit functions and I checked this, but still very slow on shutdown.

    Who can suggest something else?
