Windows 10: Slowdowns and freezes when opening apps, folders or start buttons

It's some time that I'm experiencing regularly freezes and quite slow behaviors when opeing apps, folders or buttons in the start menu. It happens often that I click on them, and the app or the operation doesn't start and the screen freezes, then after like a minute it finally goes. Before it was happening only in the moments after I turned on the computer, now it happens regularly, and just today when I shut down the computer, it got stuck on the sutting down screen for like 15 minutes and i had to manually turn it off by pressing on the turn on button.


I already did with command prompt things like scannow, dism restorehealth, dism scan health and they all told me the computer is fine.

Only thing, dism.exe / online / cleanup-image / startcomponentcleanup completed when it was only at 20%.


I'm on windows 10 home, version 20H2, os build 19042.630

Opening a Folder in VC++

I've recently started learning VC++ and it's coming along quite nicley, I've now been given a little task by my boss to add a button to an excisting Incident report program.

All the button needs to do is open a new explorer window and open the folder selected in the incident report program. There isn't a deadline for it, it's just to assist in my learning.

I'm not asking for anyone to do it for me, i just need a few suggestions on how to do this so i'm looking in the correct direction?

Mail app will not open on 10041.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Opening a Folder in VC++

I've got the button working now, it opens the folder which I've stated.

I'm now looking at reading a string the user inputs, from this string I want to be able identify and open the folder using the button.

Is this in the range of someone at intermediate level?

Furthermore, is there a function like equalsIgnoreCase in c++ and would this be viable for doing what I need?
